About Pure New World
Pure New World is an Australian venture that has developed a first-in-world composite polymer. The polymer combines waste materials as aggregate, plastics as a bonding agent and a polymer material that can encapsulate waste and/or form a building material without concrete and water.
Testing at NATA-accredited laboratories has demonstrated the unique capability of the polymer to encapsulate hazardous and non-hazardous materials and make them inert such that they do not leach.
Pure New World and its associated entity, Hazprotect, are working with a leading Australian university to investigate the unique characteristics of the polymer and range of possible applications. This collaboration will be the basis upon which Pure New World will build and operate a pilot plant to demonstrate the solution at scale.
Key Applications
Three significant markets have been identified that will benefit from Pure New World’s composite polymer.
Hazardous Waste Remediation
The polymer is able to encapsulate hazardous waste in an enduring fashion by making the waste inert such that it does not leach.
Building Materials
Encapsulated waste can be re-used as a low-carbon, non-porous building material that does not require cement or water.
Nuclear Waste Encapsulation
NATA-accredited testing validated the ability of the composite polymer to safely encapsulate low to intermediate nuclear waste.
